Worlds far away

There are always uncomfortable things going on in life. Yet, at times this one thing does not come alone. And so another issue set off long before you could even imagine its arrival. One thing leads to another, and an endless loop of unexpected problems arises.

But the wild waves open up at some point and almost wash me away. I feel devoured. As I’m almost losing the ground under my feet, I allow myself to close my eyes.

For a brief moment, I can escape the misery. I dream of worlds far away, hoping to take them back with me later. I wish I could see this vastness also with open eyes. However, the limited focus and a lack of foresight are not owed to the problems but the fact that I let them drag me along.

The Ijmeer

The Ijmeer in the Netherlands is a picturesque bay that stretches from Amsterdam to Almere. It is an essential part of Dutch history and culture, and this photo captures a beautiful moment. You can see a container ship on the Buiten-Ij, part of the Ijmeer. The Ijmeer provides a unique landscape that can't be found anywhere else in Europe, and it's worth visiting at least once in your lifetime. This photo was taken during the summer of 2021, when many could enjoy all the Ijmeer offers.

Hi there, I'm Stefanie, the photographer, and author of the blog post you're reading now.
