Boom Festival 2023

I had the pleasure of spending my summer in Portugal's desert area at none other than the Boom Festival - an unparalleled experience that I have enjoyed for five consecutive years. Every moment there was pure magic; it felt like a true dream! The festival brought together beautiful souls from all over the world, leaving me feeling both inspired and grateful for life.

Dancing until dawn to some fantastic sets while surrounded by creativity made this experience unforgettable. Leaving behind everyday lives is refreshing because I can spend time analog-style, allowing me to appreciate every second I experience fully. This way, even nuances become apparent, leading to personal reflection and new ideas without internal or external pressure.

Words cannot adequately describe what I experienced during those few days, but rest assured that my storytelling journey continues with recharged batteries after a fulfilling festival!

However, I am happy to share some of the photos I took during the festival because, as a photographer, you can try to go without a camera to Boom (did so) - yet, you'll quickly realize that even if you are only left with your phone, this place is too beautiful not to be captured!

Thank you to everyone who contributed positively towards making this event memorable- see you again two years from now!

The Boom Festival

The Boom Festival is a remarkable celebration of music and culture in the picturesque municipality of Castelo Branco, Idanha-a-Nova, in Portugal. Its inception dates back to 1997, when it was first introduced as an event for alternative culture enthusiasts. Over time, this festival has grown into a global phenomenon, with visitors worldwide flocking to attend its festivities.

One unique aspect of The Boom Festival is that it remains independent without advertisements. Additionally, sustainability plays a significant role at this grand gathering, making it stand out even more! Apart from electronic music performances being one of its main attractions, there are also various stages dedicated solely towards promoting different genres such as workshops on art exhibitions and movies too! The 14th Boom took place on 20 July – 27 July 2023.
