The miracle of persistence

You go through different phases as you discover a new topic. When you follow up on something you like, it’s tempting to surrender to the initial euphoria quickly. Full of enthusiasm, you enter a world where nothing else exists. With this spirit of optimism, big castles in the air soon arise in your wildest plans for the future.

Suddenly, the exciting plans for the future seem to burst like a bubble, and you are back at the beginning because of your comfort zone that drew a line under your project. Yet you must spoil before you spin.

After all, every great success is the result of successfully mastered failures. Hence, if you want something, you can’t count on anything else but the miracle of persistence.

The Dutch windmills

I took this photo in the summer of 2020 in Zaanse Schans, north of Amsterdam (The Netherlands). With its green surroundings, you can see the iconic windmills of the Zaanse Schans in summer. It is one of the main tourist attractions in the Netherlands, and besides the windmills, you can see a village with classical Dutch houses. This village is unique because all of the architecture shares a similar design. However, you can see today, not the original village as many homes have been brought to this place from other towns to design an iconic Dutch village with the help of the miracle of persistence. There is no entry fee.

Hi there, I'm Stefanie, the photographer, and author of the blog post you're reading now.
