Seeking the self

In this quiet forest where the trees stand tall, I look beyond what I can touch and see. The rustling of leaves and the dappled light create a peaceful escape, pushing away the busy noise of my daily life. With its patchwork of green and brown, this place acts like a mirror to me, making me think about who I am and who I want to be.

Clarity often blooms within these moments of gentle disorientation, reminding me that my identity isn't found in the vastness of the forest but in recognizing my unique existence. While part of the collective, each tree stands firm with its roots and branchesβ€”just as I do, navigating through life's forest, searching for the roots and stems that will support and carry me forward.

The silence of the Dutch forest

The forests of the Netherlands offer a serene escape, characterized by their intimate scale and a blend of beech, oak, and pine. These woodlands, including the one depicted in the photograph, provide a tranquil contrast to the country's urban spaces. The Dutch forest is a realm of quietude, where the rustling leaves and the play of light and shadow through the trees create a peaceful, contemplative environment. This silence is not just the absence of noise, but a presence in itself, inviting those who wander its paths to a journey of inner reflection and connection with nature.
